On election night in 2011 Tim watched the results roll in and felt a complete sense of frustration with another Conservative win. Over the next few years the feeling deepened. It became apparent, the best way for him to effect change was to step forward and run for MP.
In February 2015 Tim won his contested nomination and became the candidate in Kitchener-Conestoga. In his decade long conservative riding many deemed it an unwinnable race. Tim came within a slim 0.5% margin of winning, falling short by only 251 votes. The loss was bittersweet. Tim’s wife and teenage children had been actively involved in the campaign and everyone was proud of their part in electing a Liberal majority.
Since the election, Tim continues to be very active in his riding association, attending community events, chairing LPC (O) AGMs, canvassing, phone banking and fundraising.
He is also a member of the Project Rural Task Force, an outreach and research program initiated by LPC(O).
Tim continues his career as a full time musician. He is a singer, songwriter and pianist and hosts his own weekly radio show.
A dedicated husband and father, Tim can often be found at his children’s recitals, sports events and dance competitions. The family fosters rescue dogs for Boxer Rescue Ontario with help from their own dog Wisdom who they adopted from the program.
